Child benefit- Tier 2 ICT VISA extension

Hello all,

I am on Tier 2 ICT VISA. Due to some wrong guidance, I had applied for child benefit on the reason that we are sponsored immigrant and started getting child benefits. But I had cancelled this immediate once I came to know that I am not entitled to this benefit as per UKBA home office rule and returned all amounts to HMRC after realising the mistake

Now, I am applying for renewal of VISA. Here ,I am in dilemma about what should I answer about question ' Have you ever received public funds in UK?' in application form for extension of visa.

Should I write YES and put a covering letter explaining the mistake or NO because I cancelled the claims and return total amount.

Able members please provide your valuable suggestion.

Can you please throw some more light on new grounds of refusal which I attached please. I am really stressed weather to apply for extension or not for a small mistake of considering sponsored immigrants as ICT.
