Can you please confirm whether it is a legal requirement to update your passport details (when you renew) with UKVI.

If yes then, what is the period in which you must report to UKVI?

If a migrant does not report to UKVI what consequence could he face?

No, but your Tier 4 sponsor needs to know, and you can use the Migrant Change of Circumstances form to notify the Home Office.
