Hi all. I've noticed that there is a lot of questions/threads about the Life in the UK test. You need to pass it if you wish to apply for British Citizenship or ILR. In this thread I will try to help everyone by summarizing everything that I know about the test. I passed my test in Feb, first time.
1) You will need is the official Life in the UK 3rd edition handbook.
2) You MUST read it a few times.
You don't need to buy the official questions/guide.Reading it twice should prepare you for the exam quite well. The test is really basic, and doesn't try to fail you.
Note: You don't have to buy the questions/guides because this is available online for free.
3)Prepare using Life in the UK practice tests
http://www.ilrtest.com - I found this the most useful, because the test format actually looks
like the official test. The questions are quite hard, and they should prepare you for the final
exam pretty well. Everything is completely free.
http://freelifeintheuktest.com - This is my second option. Looks quite nice, the only problem
that i didn't like was that questions were very repetitive. Only 5 tests available for free daily,
then you have to pay.
http://theuktest.com - Very good resource also. The test format is a bit old-fashioned because you have to
scroll down, but you can still prepare well. Absolutely free also.
There are other paid services, but these 3 should be more than enough to prepare. I will edit and change if you want me to add other resources.
4)Download Mobile Apps
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... k.practice
Apple:
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/officia ... 64672?mt=8
5)Review and book
After using these test you should get an idea of how you are doing. If you are passing every test, you are ready to
book the test. The official test can be booked using:
https://www.gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test
The test is really easy, the questions are basic compared to practice questions. Good luck to you all!
P.S. The reason I posted this thread is because the pinned thread had websites that are outdated/with invalid URL's. This is the most relevant information so far.
