ILR - query on 5 Year period

Post by Krish_007 » Fri May 15, 2015 6:17 pm

Hello All,

I am bit confused here, hope some one can shed some light here.

My Tier1 (General) start day : 23/09/2011 Expires on 03/09/2016 -- so it's covering 4 Year 11 months 11 days.

So does this cover 5 year period, if i apply on 01/09/2016 ( for 28 buffer days) ? as it's clear i don't have total 5 years visa and i also missed the extension (as no more Tier1 G extensions )

It could be of great help, if some one clarifies this.

Thanks
Krish

obviously it does not cover 5 years

but you should be fine applying on 1/09/16 and up to the day of expiration

it is a long-standing concession to allow applications up to 28 days early

i am personally not very fond of applying early without need, because it doesn't say anywhere in the law that you can and i like to be able to prove my right to do what i am doing. and 28 days it's just a concession

but in your case the need is obvious and to be honest this usually works

it certainly would not have been worth it to file for an extension on yoru case, so you haven't missed anything
**Please note, you can no longer contact me by PM because owners of this board accused me of using it to recruit clients, and disabled my ability to read and send PMs.**
