Hi Kimberley

I am in the same boat , applied for a renewal on 29th December, letter of acknowledgement arrived sometime very early January dated 31st December , have not heard anything further yet. My last one took only 3 weeks in August 2012 , applied 7th Aug , issued 31st Aug , this time I have no clue , I need mine for work travel , that is why it filled up in 2 years and I have been avoiding travel so far , but it is getting ridiculous and I really fear to lose my job....let me know when you get yours....I will let you know, if I hear anything, I have phoned everyday from Monday to be told the same thing...no decision yet ....the call centre people cannot say much more than that...they have no idea as well....If you ask them they will repeat the 70 day line but it does not help...why are we treated like dirt in this country? :x :( :?

Hi taperac

Good to hear from you was your letter dated 70 working days as well 98 percent.
I always ring them everyday just to hear the same old story 70working days it's terrible.
It's been 30working days now not including weekends.
It's my renewal as well l gave them the old one back the last one I did in 2009 took three weeks as well.
Please update me when you get yours back.

Kimberley

I did get the same meaningless letter about 70 working days , so your life is on hold all that time , just because we are refugees , this is so unjust , is there a way to speed it up?

Hi guys

Thought I would share my experience and see if anyone has any advice for me.
I made my application on the 8th March 2014 and received the letter to enrol my biometrics shortly after which I did.

Unfortunately I am still waiting to receive my travel document as "further enquiries are being made" as they keep telling me when I make complaints. It has been 50 weeks (2 more weeks and it'll be exactly a year!) missed out on a holiday last year and I feel like I'll be missing another this year! Any advice please, rather fed up

Hello guys!

Thought I would join in to share my experience so we can all support each other.

Convention Travel Document (Refugee)

Date of Application: 12/05/15
Signed for by home office: 14/05/15
Debit of Fee's: 18/05/15
Receipt of Acknowledgment from Home Office:
Receipt of Travel Doc:

I am really hoping that this does not take months like some applications, I contacted the home office before I made the application and the gentleman advised me that at the moment they are processing application within around 4 weeks however I haven't even received acknowledgment yet so I doubt that will be the case.

I am here to share my journey and will help where I can with everyone eleses!!
