Tier 2 General - Dependent visa

Post by goodwill01178 » Wed Oct 29, 2014 9:43 pm

Hi

Please could some one help me to clarify on the below.

At present my partner is out side UK. And I am planning to apply Tier 2 dependent visa for my partner from the country where she is residing at the moment. Also I understand that I have to mention my current Cos number on my partner's dependent visa application form, I will mention the Cos number and apply dependent visa for my wife. But I am looking to change my job in a month time, once I changed my job with new employer with new Cos number and visa given. Then should I need to again apply dependent visa for my partner before she come to UK.please could you clarify.

Thank you

If you are certain to switch your job in a month, I would suggest you first get your new visa and then ask her to apply with the new CoS No. You can avoid spending the visa fees for the first application.

Re: Tier 2 General - Curtail leave to remain in UK

Post by goodwill01178 » Sat Feb 28, 2015 1:58 pm

Hi

I am in Tier 2 General visa and it was sponsored by my current employer.
I just want to know about the number of days curtail leave to remain in UK, In case if my current employer withdraw my Cos under any circumstances.

My wife and my minor child they both are dependent to my Tier 2 General visa. Will that make any difference in number of days Curtail leave to remain in UK ?

Please could someone help me to clarify on the above query.

Thank you

If your current employer decides to let you go, they will have to report it to home office within 10 days of your exit date. Home office will take few days to send you a curtailment letter. You will normally get 60 days from the date the letter was issued (and not from your last working date) to find another sponsor or leave UK. Your dependent's visa is linked to your visa, so they will follow your lead.

You will need a letter from the current employer stating that they still need you for the job. You will also need letter from current and previous employers from last 5 years listing your absences from UK. Check the ILR forums here, you will get more info on the kind of documentation u'll need.

Tier 2 General Visa to ILR

Post by goodwill01178 » Wed Aug 12, 2015 9:11 pm

Hi There

I am in Tier 2 General visa since Oct 2011, the current visa will expire in Nov 2017. However, I will be eligible to apply ILR in Oct 2016 under 5 years route.

I understand to be eligible for ILR after April 2016, I have to meet salary thresholds which is currently £ 35,000 per Annum, But my current salary is below to £ 35,000 So please can some one help to clarify on my below queries.

1.) Should I have to earn £ 35,000 for last one year before I apply to ILR or if If get salary £ 35,000 a month before I apply ILR will be sufficient ?
2.) If I get new job offer after Oct 2016 with £ 35,000 salary, Instead of getting new Cos from new employer and apply Tier 2 Visa is there any possibility to apply ILR directly. As by Oct 2016 I would have completed 5 years in Tier 2 Just the min salary will be short fall to qualify ILR.

Thank you

It is "minimum salary threshold as prescribed for the year in question" or "SOC rate of pay", whichever is higher!
Earning minimum salary will not help if the SOC rate of pay is higher.

1. Under current rules you need to provide (two) evidence(s) of earning for just one month preceding the application.
2. No.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Tier 2 General to ILR

Post by goodwill01178 » Mon Sep 07, 2015 6:28 pm

Hi

I am in Tier 2 General Visa since Oct 2011. I will be eligible to apply ILR in Oct 2016 under 5 years route in Tier 2.

However, It's been 7 years since I came to UK, my previous visa history as below,

Sep 2008 to Jan 2010 - Student Visa
Jan 2010 to Oct 2011 - Post study work visa
Oct 2011 to Present - Tier 2 General visa

please can you let me know by considering the total number of years stayed in UK and is there any other possibility that I could apply ILR in End March 2016 that will be 6 months prior to I am completing 5 years in Tier 2.

Thank you
