claim child benefit and child tax credit - will affect citiz

Post by inzellhsw » Wed Aug 12, 2009 8:52 am

hi guys, I've got my ILR recently, and I am now eligible to claim the child benefit (£20/wk) and child tax credit (£10.50/wk).

Will claiming these affect my naturalisation in March 2010?

many thanks!

Just bumping this thread to know if the same rules are applicable in June 2015?

The question -

We got my ILR last week, and I have got two kids. One of my kid has ILR while I am applying MN1 for another.
Is it safe to claim child benefits and child tax credit for them without affecting our citizenship application next year?

Many thanks in advance!

Yes it is. You're no longer under Immigration control.

Hi,
I have a query about Claiming child benefits and child tax credit.

My husband got his ILR under 10 years route in october 2015 and I applied for my flr m. I have 2 questions.I have 2 kids both got their British Citizenship.

1) Does claiming Child benefits and child tax credit effect my husband's Naturalisation application and his British passport application later.

2) Does my husband claiming these benefits effect my flr m apllication or the set m application later.

Please help me in knowing whether my husband can claim these benefits or not wothout effecting our applications in future.

Hoping I will get the response to my query.

Child benefit should be claimed in his name only and Child Tax Credit in joint names.
