U.S. Ex partner US child - UK dad

So my fiancé left me whilst pregnant to have our baby born abroad. She's a U.S. Citizen and is the baby and I'm a UK national.

I'd like to be actively involved in the child's life and being 3000 miles away is challenging. Are there are compassionate visas or the like that I could apply for to be with my child? Or is the only way for me to look for employer sponsorship?
