UK Tier 1-ILR Query about Interview Questions

Post by toshiba.star » Fri Jul 24, 2015 2:41 pm

Hi,

I am looking to apply for ILR from Tier-1 in October, I am at 2+3years rules and I showed £40,000 as salary + self-employment. Just bit worried about self-employment, If they call me for interview, anyone have any idea about interview questions. Also what are the supporting documents I need for ILR.

Please help me, I want specialist advice.
Many Thanks.

First thing that springs to mind is that you need to check and make sure that all your tax affairs are in order for self employment and that the income you declared in previous applications to UKVI matches what you declared to HMRC.

If you read the Set(O) form and guidance, it gives a lot of information and then if you need further clarity, come back with questions.

Thank you for your reply CR001

I have few more questions, I am very Thankful if you reply of them as well.

1) As you mention about tax, I amended my tax on previous application in 2012. I paid all the differences to HMRC. And of 2010 I amended the tax return and send it to HMRC but still I am waiting reply from them. As you know my visa finish very soon and if they don't give me reply what will I need to do?

2) As you told me, I read all set(o) form guidance, I have query on criminal offence. In 2012 my husband caught speeding, and he was send to awareness course, luckily he not get any points on his licence. Do I need to mention of this?

In 2006 at underground station, there was a zone confusion and my husband had to go to transport court, where judge find £150 penalty. This incidence we already mention in previous tier-1 application. Do I need to mention this time as well?

keep chasing them, they got so many returns everyday that your file could be lost easily. Did you send your returns via registered mail?

If you still have few more days in your leave expiry then best thing is reschedule your appointment near to your visa expiry date and give some more days to HMRC to process your request and update your records.

the question mainly about your business and your customers, they may contact your customers for the checks and the other questions they would be asking about your tax matters...

Hi,

at which telephone number did you call HMRC to get an update about the amendment? My friend has sent an amendment for 2012-2013 and is still waiting for an update. Its 10 weeks now that his CA sent the amendment to HMRC. any idea how long they take to send the update?

Thanks

The current turn around for HMRC for amendment is 3-4 months.
