Applying UK Visa for the first time

Post by dwisdwi » Fri Aug 07, 2015 6:19 am

Hi,

I applied for UK Long Term(5 Years) Visitor Visa. Visiting, UK for the first time, due to the following reasons.

-My Daughter received an offer from a reputed university for three year Law programme & I will be visiting her frequently.(Main reason)
-To visit my Brother in Law ( Not a main reason).

I visited Australia one month in 2006.Singapore thrice 2006,2013,2015.South Korea 2013.
I have USA Visa for 10 years.
I am a retired Army Officer in 2008, now self employed. My annual income is INR 32,00,000/-, well settled in New Delhi.
I have submitted all the relevant documents incl property details.

What is the possibility of my application being accepted ?

Very unlikely that you will be granted a 5 year visitor visa if this is your first application. It would have been advisable to apply for a 6 month visa initially.

Thank You, for your prompt reply.
I made to understand that short term visa is single entry.
Once again Thank you very much for the valuable information.

Warm Regards.

But be aware that whichever length of visitor visa you are granted, you will be unable to spend more time in the UK within a rolling 12 month period than you are spending in your home country.
