Passport Application and drink driving charge

Post by ZenIndia » Wed Aug 26, 2015 1:56 pm

Hi guys,
I was wondering if someone can provide me with some info.
In 2011, I was convicted of drink driving and faced a fine of 250 euros and 2 years drive ban.
Just over 6 months ago I applied for Irish passport and it's been like 6 months and 2 weeks, I haven't heard anything from the department who approve passport applications.

I'm panicking a little, does anybody here has some information about if this can dampen my hopes of getting a passport?
No urban legends please as I am already freaking out.
Did this happened to you or anyone you personally know.
Thanks a lot.
Zen.

have you applied for passport or naturalization?

If you are Irish citizen and applied for passport which has been delayed, contact DFA to get the status of application. It should not take 6 months?

Hi All.
Just got a letter today from the minister`s office.
They asked for the receipt for fine I paid when I was convicted of drink driving and a statement from me explaining why?
Can someone please help me as to what to write , what might the outcome be?
Thanks a ton,
Zen.
