Hello

I was wondering about Citizenship references; is a spouse allowed to be a reference? or does it need to be 3 Irish citizens NOT related to you?

Cheers

@lolo82 I think "References section should be completed by three Irish Citizens who are not related to you or act as a solicitor/agent for you." Please someone correct if I am wrong.

When I applied for my naturalization 2 years ago, I asked my manager and 2 of my company directors for reference. I got approval and it was acceptable. So find someone at work place if you can.

Good Luck

I cannot find any proper guidance for this...

Usually forms I complete require references to be from a professional (solicitor, teacher, doctor etc) but is it suitable just to have friends as references?

This might be complicated for us, as most people we know in N. Ireland have British passports

If they were born on the island of Ireland they are part of the Irish nation. That should be enough.
