Not received Decision Letter together with Entry Clearance

Post by mizuho0404 » Sat Sep 05, 2015 1:27 pm

Hi.
I received my passport and my documents that were sent to UKVI yesterday. My passport had an entry clearnce inside, which is valid until 3 OCT 2015.
However, I did not find any decision letter inside the package.
I am going to stay in the UK until june next year, so I am sure that I will need a BRP.
Could anyone help me explaining this?
Will I be refused to come in to the UK?
I have already booked my flight...

Which immigration category did you apply for?
Where from?

Assuming you are not a Norwegian citizen, you need to contact UKVI (or the visa center that you submitted your application at) and inform them that you have not received any information about where to collect your BRP from and when.

I do know where I should collect my BRP because of my online application.
However, I am wondering if it is a big problem if I do not have a Decision Letter.

Moreover, my flight is tomorrow... and UKVI doesn't answer on weekends :(

Ah! So you know when and where to collect your BRP from.

Then there is nothing to worry! The 30 day vignette is evidence of the decision.

aah okay, thank you!
I don't know when I should collect it (I think it is within 10 days of my arrival).
Then it is not a problem if I don't have a decision letter when I am immigrating and when I will collect my BRP.

I do know where I should collect my BRP because of my online application.
Your decision letter will tell you:

when your BRP will be available
which Post Office branch you can collect it from
So, which of the two are you aware of, as you say, because of your online application - are you aware of which post office to collect the BRP from and when will it be available at that post office?

I am aware of which post Office to collect, but not when. But the main question is if it is a big problem if I don't have (have not received) any Decision Letter.

You don't need the decision letter to enter UK. An immigration officer will not stop you because you are unable to produce a decision letter.

The decision letter may be required to collect the BRP from the post office.
You must bring your passport or travel document with your vignette when you collect your BRP. You should also bring your decision letter.
It says "should" so perhaps not a mandatory requirement. You'll know for sure only when you go to collect the BRP.

Hi

I understand you still don't know when BRP will be ready for pick up.
You 'must' pick it up within 10 days of arrival , but whether it will be ready for pick up or not is another question.
What happens if BRP is not ready by October 3rd? Can it be an issue?
I am in the same scenario : http://www.immigrationboards.com/genera ... 94037.html . Visa in passport expires on October the 1st but no decision letter and no reply from BRPcollection@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk yet on when BRP would be ready.
