Settlement Visa Application - India

Dear All

This post is primarily for those who wish to apply for Settlement Visa for their family members under "Self Employed as Director of limited Company" category, in India. Applicants from other categories can refer to the details provided and modify it as per their requirement.

I am not giving here ay links of government’s websites as that information is readily available online and also there are plenty of posts on this forum that will provide you with those informative links.

In my experience, the most important thing for a successful application is to make sure that you meet the criteria for successful application and equally important is that that you explain as to how you meet the criteria in simplest terms. The easiest way to explain that you meet the criteria is through cover letters. Cover Letters provide a logical flow of your application. Sometimes there are scenarios in applications that appear quite complex but these potential complexities can be cleared out in cover letters.

I have attached following cover letters for different sections of application -

1. Main Cover Letter
2. Marriage & Subsisting Relationship Covering Letter
3. Financial Requirements Covering Letter
4. Accommodation Requirements Covering Letter
5. English Language Requirements Covering Letter
6. Additional Documents Covering Letter

Additionally, I have also provided the checklist of documents that the applicant can take with him/her to the VFS office.

I have applied the settlement Wife Visa yesterday on 10.09.2015.
I saw your cover letters and the details you have put in your application.

My application is pretty much in same line.

Could you please tell me how long it took for your application to get processed?

Logged in today after a long time. Hope you have received your visa already by now. It took us 6 weeks to receive the passport from the date of application.
