Tier 1 Dependent Visa for UK Born Kid - Applying from India

Post by tirfk » Tue Sep 29, 2015 9:54 am

Hi there
My friend is on Tier 1 General and has been in the UK for more than 12 months. His wife is also in Tier 1 General and been more than 12 MOnths in the UK.

They had a son in the UK (Oct 2014) and they applied for Indian Passport and she left to India for vacation (Sept 2015) and intend to apply for his Tier 1 Dependent visa from there.

Now what is the maintenance funds my friend needs to show (for 3 months)?
Is it 945 (for himself)+630 (his wife) + 630 (for his son)= 2205
or
945 (for himself)+630 (for his kid) = 1575

Thanks for your help.
Regards

each dependant must have a certain amount of money available to them - this is in addition to the £945 you must have to support yourself.

The amount depends on your circumstances. You must have £1,890 for each dependant if you’re applying from outside the UK or have been in the UK for less than 12 months. If you’ve been in the UK for more than 12 months, you must have £630 for each dependant.

You must have proof you have the money, and that it’s been in your bank account or your dependant’s bank account for at least 90 days before you or they apply.

Example
You must have £4,725 if you want to bring your partner and one child with you to the UK - £945 to support yourself + £1,890 for your partner + £1,890 for your child.
