Hi
you can get a letter from your friend saying that you are sharing the house and attach a copy of their utility bill, send it to INIS, hope it would work because I have read in this forum peoples did like this and now they have got their Residence Card so don't worry much..

you can sign in postoffice TV license on your name only cost 160 euro for one year, or there is some no contract broadband packages so you can provide them as your utility bills.

I don't think your friend can write, because he is not home owner no so you better try do from the home owner?

I know at the moment it is bit hard to find accommodation but why can't you just say YES if landlords ask if your wife working?! just tell them yes and get the house  they are not going to verify if she works or not!

Why County Cork? Other areas like Louth seem to have a lot more and seem cheaper .
