Job requirement ambiguity

Post by 10020132 » Fri Oct 09, 2015 11:51 pm

I have an employee who worked for me 20 hours per week for almost 24 months. Will that count as one full time employee? or does it need to be 30 hours atleast as guidance does not elaborate on part time employees but just full time employees

Yes it can count as one job if you got visa after april 2014 and one and half job if you got it before april 2014.

20 hours * 52 weeks * 2 years = 2048 hours (one job requirement 1560 hours)

if before april 2014

3120 / 2048 = 1.5 jobs

I appreciate your response. Just to be clear, you wrote 2048 by mistake. Right? As it was supposed to be 2080. Correct me if i am wrong

I got my visa before april 2014, the thing that confused me from guidance was that number of hours of part time workers even if they add up to more than 30 per week it will still be counted as 30
So, in nut shell, if by any means no matter how many employes I have and irrespective of how long they work each week (no more than 30) as long as hours add up to 3120 its fine. I got visa before april 2014

Many thanks

I dont think so that adding number of hours will make it.
You should have qualified for providing 1 job as I think less than 30 will be part time anyway and hours more than 30 are also not counted

Can you please elaborate on it? As its even more ambiguous than the guidance

@10020132 sorry for bad math and yes what you are saying is exactly what I understand from the guidance.

regarding this line in your last comment the thing that confused me from guidance was that number of hours of part time workers even if they add up to more than 30 per week it will still be counted as 30

in case of two employee the maximum threshold increase to 60 hours (30 hours per employee per week).
