Child Benefit on ILR

Post by skreddy » Tue Nov 24, 2015 11:05 am

Hi Members,

I have recently got ILR ( a month ago) and my wife got PBS dependant extension, as she is not qualified yet to get ILR. We have a baby girl born in the UK and applied for MN1 Section 1(3) naturalization, would like to claim Child Benefit for her.

Does this affect my wife's ILR application, which would be applied in 2018, as SET(M) form asking about whether you or your partner ever claimed any benefits.

Please make me clarified.

Thanks a lot.

You can claim child benefit in YOUR name only - No effect on her Set(M)

If you claim tax credits, this MUST be claimed in JOINT names with your spouse - no effect on her Set(M).

All based on the rules as they are now.
