OCI application queries

Question for users having submitted application after 23 Nov I.e. Using the new system;
Were all original documents including applicants passport returned on the day of the appointment?
Did you sign/ self attest all the documents before uploading onto the website?

1. The passport is returned. All others will be returned after HCI is done with them (whatever they do) ... usually within 10 working days.
2. AFAIK, no where is it mentioned that the uploaded documents must be self-attested.
