Switching from Tier 4 visa to Short term study visa i

Post by delikatnyid » Sat Dec 19, 2015 11:28 pm

Dear All

I have a very simple question. I am Ukrainian and have been studying on a Tier 4 visa is the UK for 7 years. I am now on my gap year awaiting studies at University in September.

On my gap year I want to take a short course at University Arts London. My current Tier for visa ends at the end of December. I want to switch to the Short Term Study Visa in order to take the short course at UAL - THE QUESTION: Can I apply for this short term visa inside the UK as soon as possible or do I have to go back to Ukraine and apply form there and then come back to the UK when my short course at UAL starts.

Thank you for your response in advance

When does the short course start? And can the university not sponsor for you for a Tier 4 visa for this course?
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

Dear Sir

I am unable to get a Tier 4 sponsorship for this short course due to the fact that the course is a 'short one' and the university do not offer CAS forms to those taking these short term studies. They are only able to issue a letter of invitation which is sufficient for a short term student visa.

Thank you for your response.

If the course starts no more than 28 days after the end of your Tier 4 leave, and it is full time, there is no specific immigration reason why they could not sponsor you for a Tier 4 visa extension. Might be worth asking.

Short term study visa necessary documents

Post by delikatnyid » Thu Jan 07, 2016 7:05 pm

Dear all,

Following on from my previous question regarding a short term study visa,
could I ask your assistance with a few more questions. To recap, I’d like to
take a six month course in fashion design and marketing at the University of
the arts London. However, I was wondering whether the ‘study time’ of this
course is sufficient for the short term visa purposes. Specifically, the
total duration of the course is 6 months, but the studies are held only 3
hours a day, once a week. Is it sufficient 'study time' in order to be
granted the short term visa?

In addition, based on what I read on the home office website, for short
term visa purposes I should provide bank statements for the last six months
showing that I can finance my stay in the UK while on studies. However, I
cannot find any further details on his issues. I would appreciate any
clarification if I can use bank statements from my parents’ bank accounts,
and how much money is required to be on such accounts.

Thank you in advance!
