Family Member of a EEA national visa vs tourist visa

Post by volkanguloglu » Sun Jan 24, 2016 1:28 pm

Hello,

I'm Turk, resident in France, living in France with my civil partner who is French.

We are planning to go together to UK during 10 days for tourism. Am I authorised to ask for a "Family Member of a EEA national permit" ? (Instead of a "tourist and short stay visa".)

Thanks,

vinny

1. EUN2.1 What is an EEA family permit? wrote:If a family member who is travelling with, or is to join the EEA national in the UK requests a visit visa under the Immigration Rules, you should offer him (or her) the option of applying for a family permit under EC law free of charge.

Family Member of a EEA national visa vs tourist visa

One more precision, if possible :

According to EUN 2.4, the conditions to be authorised to ask a EEA family permit is that

1: "the EEA national intends to travel to the UK within 6 months" and

2:"the non-EEA national will be accompanying the EEA national" and

3:"will have a right to reside under the Regulations on arrival".

My civil partner is clearly satisfying the 2 first conditions but...
What does mean the 3rd condition ?

(I remind you that we are just planning to spend a 10 days touristical trip in UK.)

Thanks.

The 3rd condition is satisfiable under Regulation 13, etc.

Hi volkanguloglu, Did this option work for you? I'm in a similar position and want to holiday in the UK.
