Indian Passport Renewal in London

Hi All,

I urgently need to renew my Indian passport in London. Can someone please tell me how I should go about doing it & what the timescales are? Apologies for the very general question which I am sure has been asked many times, but I urgently need to get it done as my current one expires later this year & I have run out of empty pages for visas & need to travel within Europe pretty soon.

I live & work in London (for 9 years) on an Indian passport & have ILR.

One more question - My Indian passport expires on 31-Aug this year, but my ILR is valid for about 8 more years. I am due to fly to India in a couple of weeks, returning 20th February. Will I have any problems considering that my Indian passport is valid for only about 6 months?

1) Please book an appointment with VFS In london and apply to renew your passport.

2) You should be ok, if you carry both expired and new passport with you when you arrive back in Feb next year. However you can transfer it as well. Below link answers both part of Point 2

Thanks, but what do you mean by "old and new passport?" I won't be renewing my passport until after I get back to London. When I arrive back in London I will have about 6 months of validity left on my indian passport.
