Post by ali80 » Wed Jan 27, 2016 11:48 pm

hI,

i am on tier 1 general visa and due to apply for indefinite in September 2016. i haven't paid my last 4 years taxes on my declared income i claimed for first application i made in 2011 and at extension in 2013. in case HOME OFFICE rejects my ILR on tax non payment basis,is it possible i pay my previous taxes and then reapply for ILR or inform HOME OFFICE about tax payment.

so can anybody give well informed view please ?

Really?

Think you should buy just your ticket home, you can't get away with this sort of thing.

It's always a puzzle to me how few Tier 1 entrepreneurs manage to get their head round tax & big society.

Surely, even by law of averages, one of them would manage to overpay tax once in a while.

I had my own company back in the day & never overlooked my legal obligations to HMRC or suppliers.

It would be advisable to pay one's dues before requesting something in return from the host (country).

Similarly, British culture & tradition dictates one should settle restaurant bills before exiting the establishment & pay for fuel before leaving the forecourt.

Am surprised you got your first visa and extention in 2013 without ever paying any tax. So the ukvi hasnt been doing any checks even up until 2013. Hmm.

And to answer your question, its amazing that you are even considering going ahead with an ILR application without paying any taxes and see if you are successful just like before.

If you spend some time here reading the number of people facing issues due to tax discrepencies, I think you will change your mind.

This forum can accept no more requests for help on Tier1G due to unpaid tax and tax discrepancies. This is an immigration forum and we have no tax specialists her. Google a tax forum

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
