Hi all,

Hope this is the correct thread to ask few questions on how can I apply for my mother to visit the UK on a standard visitor visa. I did try to find some solid information without much success :(

I would like to sponsor my mother to visit me, would really appreciate your advice on what to do/ if our current situation is compatible with getting a visa.

My status: I currently am on ILR (received ILR through SET-LR 2 weeks ago). Married and currently renting a property with one extra room. I have a full time permanent job with a salary of £30k p.a.

My mother: she is 50 years old, has Bangladeshi nationality and never travelled anywhere outside Bangladesh. There is no property or bank account in her name but she has shared ownership in some land and property that we own backhome.

Reason why I would like her to be in the UK: my father has recently passed away and I wanted her to get out to explore at least to see family & friends in the UK whom she hasn't met for ages.

Questions:
Can I apply for her as a full sponsor?
What documents do I require to prepare in the UK?
What documents does my mother need to prepare in Bangladesh?
What is the possibility of including my younger brother with my mother (he is 28 years old and self-employed in Bangladesh)?
Would appreciate if someone could direct me to download an application form and guidance for this type of visa.

Many thanks
Ali

Hi All

I hope someone might be able to help me. My mom's 5 year visit visa is expiring in May. She is planning to apply for a 10 year visit visa (I am a British national and she lives in Pakistan).
Could someone please tell me when is the earliest we can apply for the visa? Or we have to wait once the current visa runs out and then we apply for they next visit visa?

Thank you
Kind regards
Farrukh

She was here last year in June and stayed here for just over a month like 35 days. She has been here every year since 2009 and stays here for about a month every time. The first visa we applied was for 6 months, then 1 year, then 2 years and then 5 years.

I really appreciate your help.

Hello all,

My mother-in-law is applying from Pakistan. I need some explanation under the 'Income and expenditure' section of family visit visa application :-

How much do you spend each month on living costs?
Does this include living costs or only food and other expenditures?

What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)?
Is this per month or the whole duration of stay in UK?

The cost of your living expenses
Is this in UK or home country ? If UK, Is this per month or whole duration of stay?

What is the total amount in GBP(£)?
Is this the sum of all of above?

Thanks.

1. How much do you spend each month on living costs? - Your average spend every month, you can include food etc, just a total number needs to be added
2. What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? - Entire trip
3. The cost of your living expenses - UK, Entire cost (You have already mentioned cost in your local country in q1.)
4. What is the total amount in GBP(£)? Where is this question? I have looked at the form and can't seem to find this question in the income/expense section.

Thanks htc_123 for your reply.
4. What is the total amount in GBP(£)? Where is this question? I have looked at the form and can't seem to find this question in the income/expense section.
This is the last question in the 'Employment and Income' section. I am filling the online form at the visa4uk.fco.gov.uk website.

Also, these questions:-

The cost of your accommodation foreign type language removed by moderator

She would be staying with me, so assume this should be £0.00

The cost of your living expenses foreign type language removed by moderator
Is this all expenses in UK ?

Please explain why they are paying towards the cost of your trip?
What reason can be given for son-in-law paying for part of her trip? Isn't this just 'normal'?

Have you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?
Is this only for in-country extension or does this mean any visa refusal from outside the UK too?
