PPS for dependent parents

Post by Hamza2013 » Fri Jan 29, 2016 6:13 pm

Hi,

We are struggling to get psp for our dependent parents. We have been told PPS is not required for their EU1 application therefore we have sent application without PPS no.

Do we need their PPS while in Ireland or during SS route if we wish to go back to our home country. Thanks

Hi

You do not need PPS for EU1 application.

just need bills on parents name or bank statements etc

There has to be a need in law for PPS before it can be issued.

It could be for medical card, registration for self employment, or paye, free travel, car insurance.

Thanks Obie. It was very useful indeed.
Is the applicant required to provide any documentary evidence to show the need of obtaining PPS or can the authorities accept a word?

Landlords would also need a PPS number from tenants in order to register tenancy with PRTB.

A letter from the landlord would suffice.

Thanks mkhan2525 for sharing this invaluable info. Sounds like a good reason to apply for pps.

Reading from other people's experience about the time taken in obtaining PRTB registration, I have another question.
Does Home Office want to see PRTB registration to establish our residence in Ireland OR can we provide other evidence like tenancy agreement, bank statements, Utility bills etc to show that we resided in Ireland?

The letter does not need to be from PRTB.

All you need to do is ask your landlord to write you a letter asking for a PPS number to be issued in order for them to register your tenancy with PRTB Board.

I recently did the PTRB and did not use PPS number because I didn't have anyway

I was able to register for PPS last week and let's just say I was lucky to get mine done as I don't have a job and they kept asking why I needed one.
