Counting 5 Years for Citizenship (How to Count)

Post by Diamler » Mon Apr 04, 2016 3:41 pm

Hi all,
I have a question to clarify about Residency count. According to residency Calculator in inis.gov.ie my 5 years will be in December as I have entered stamp to stamp (Including My temp stamp4 for 6 months the date I registered with GNIB and 5 years visa the date I registered with GNIB). But people are saying this will be counted from the day Justice Dept has issued letter with end of Visa date. This is really kind of confusing. So please who already received Irish passport or who knows about it, can you clarify on this issue??

Thanks

Thanks very much Uberneo. But I think my case is not similar to that. In here, you will get the stamp on the same date you visit to the office. It is the Department of Justice issue the letter for visa that your visa is given until the end date.

So its kind of Confusing.

Just use your letter

as for me i got 6 month visa , then i got 5 years visa which make about 5years 5 months

My best proof for the first EUF4FAM 6 month is a letter ..that shows from which date i am resident in the country .

So how about the gaps in residence. I heard even if you have 5 years stamp visa but you were out of the state for holiday for 4/6 weeks, this should be subtract from your five years and this the they count total re-knockable residency?

How true is this?
