I don't believe so, but your local Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) should be able to help you with this and advise on what benefits you are entitled to. The advice is free,

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

If you want benefits, then you don't have a choice but to attend that appointment for the HRT.
If you are in an area where Universal Credit is in, you will be told that.

UC is part of the welfare reforms and is being rolled out across the country and replaces 6 income based benefits, Child Tax Credits, Income Support, Working Tax Credits, JSA, ESA, Housing Benefit. There are different rules for the claimant to the benefits they replace.
