Advise on tier 4 (ACCA) switching to tier 2

Post by Sonu143 » Sun Jun 19, 2016 11:59 pm

Hello guys

I need your expert advise on an issue of switching tier 4 visa to tier 2 visa.

The scenario is that I have gained a UK bachelors degree in 2012 and then I was on PSW until Aug 2014. From Aug 2014 to April 2017 I am on a tier 4 visa pursuing ACCA. I have just left with 4 more papers to complete the qualification. However, I have been offered a role as an assistant accountant with a firm who has a sponsorship license.

I just wanted to know if a RLMT would be required to apply for switching the visa to tier 2? Or is it not required as I have been continously in the UK since I gained my bachelors degree back in 2012.

I also have the option of completing a thesis and getting bachelor in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes university.

I want to switch it now which is like 10 months before my tier 4 visa expires is that okay to do so?

I would be very grateful if you could please provide your expert advise on the above matters in order to switch to tier 2 visa.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

And in order to apply for an accountant role under tier 2 you have to be fully qualified. Completing ACCA papers does not meet the SOC.

Thanks for your helpful advises.

However, I have read in one of the discussions that if you have been continuously in the UK since you had the degree then it is not a problem being on tier 4 ACCA student as we can get exemption from RLMT because of the graduation degree gained previously.

You are missing the point. RLMT exempt or not you don't qualify for the accountant SOC.

You are not qualified.
