*** OCI for New Born Baby ***

Post by dvadithala » Sat May 14, 2016 10:47 am

Hi Experts,

We have a new born baby and I wanted to apply for OCI card for my daughter. I hold British Passport (Via HSMP route) and wife is on dependant visa. I assume that my daughter (a week old) can apply for the OCI card after getting her British Passport?

If yes, please can you guide me with the document checklist for OCI application and how long does it take?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Me

I have moved your post to the correct sub forum 'Other Countries'. You will see that there is loads of information in this sub forum regarding OCI.

Thank you both.

I'm struggling to take a picture with eyes open. It says on the VFS site that babies under 1 year are OK to close their eyes. Anyone done this before?

Also, how can I take finger print of 6 weeks baby?

What is the general time lines of processing infant OCI?

1. Yes, eyes closed is fine.
2. Buy a stamp pad from any office supplies store, press her left hand thumb on it and press on paper - I did it when my baby was sleeping. Dont forget to wash it off
3. Timelines seem to be same for adult and infant - refer to timelines sticky thread.
