Child birth registration, so on and so forth

Post by Elixia » Thu Jun 23, 2016 10:20 pm

Hello.

I came to the republic of Ireland from the U.k while pregnant to escape certain family conflicts, while in the RoI I gave birth to my son. Due to me being a British Citizen I wanted to know would I register my son here ? My next question is due to my son being born in the Roi would I need to get him a British passport or an Irish passport when I return to the UK?

Thank you Kindly, Elixia.

Under what circumstances, your child is eligible for an Irish passport?

The child is Irish by birth no questions asked, apply for a passport.
