UK standard visitor visa - Bangalore (India)

Hi People, I have applied for a standard visitor visa today from VFS Bangalore (India). The VFS officials told me that it takes 10 -15 working days. I wanted to know has anyone applied for a standard visitor visa from Bangalore in the last 2 weeks? What are the timelines like?

Sometimes visitor visas are decided quickly, other times it can take a few weeks. All depends on how good the supporting documents of the applicants are.

I got a email from the BHC which is something like this - ''Your UK visa application has now been received at the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai and will shortly be considered by an Entry Clearance Officer.

We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service) and settlement applications within 60 working days.

You will receive a further e-mail advising you of the outcome of your application''

I think it might be in queue for 2 more days so hopefully by next wednesday or thursday status might change. Keeping fingers crossed.

No, I queried using the email form, but they said it was not assessed by ECO yet. Still waiting. Hopefully still all positive.

Ok that's really weird . I thought yours would have been assessed by now. For you it's the 9th working day right ? It's 5th working day for me today and no update . I use the paid service and called them and they also told me the same thing that my form is waiting to be assessed and hasn't been assessed yet my tickets are for 5th August so I am getting a bit worried now .

June's timeline tells 99% get processed in 10 working days. 8th working day for me, so should be decided in the next couple of days. Guess it depends on where it is on the pile of visas to be processed and our individual circumstances. I'll notify as soon as i get an update.

Your visa would most probably be processed by next week.

Just spoke to a friend and her parents travelle in April she said that they don't update regularly . For her parents also it was the same - they had an update as waiting to be processed and next was dispatched so let's wait it out. I feel your mothers in laws should be done by Friday . Please keep me posted

@pallavi2487 - you are right. Did not get any communication or updates. Directly received the courier today with the approved visa! yey! Took a little over 2 weeks from application to visa in hand (with one public holiday in between).

Deepak's mom oin law applied a week before us so she got her approval on 20th (applied from bangalore vfs). I applied from Bangalore VFS , I am on my 7th working day (counting from the day I got the email from Madras fco) otherwise it's 8th working day for me. I think by next tuesday you should hear something.

Really shocked to know that applicants will not receive any email/sms updates about their application status.

We subscribed for sms alert and highly dependent on those email/sms messages...(currently applicants are not living at their native place and staying in chennai itself - for the decision & to collect the passport directly in VFS)

Now we will keep an eye on courier/postal delivery@home address...

You should get it by Monday. I am also waiting ... Really frustrating . I have my tickets booked as well for 5th August so I am very worried . Hopefully hear something positive next week

If the applicant has applied for courier delivery then I have a tip - go to Bluedart website . Click on the tracking and select reference number and put your gwf number. I will try it on tursday

@visitor_chennai any update ? I called the helpline tolday and they said it's still not assessed... I am shitting bricks now...

@'pallavi2487' - Our applications are also under progress...they advised us to contact again on next Monday(for 15 working days )...[got this update through helpline no]

@visitor_chennai - This is scary . I am supposed to fly out on 5th August and no news on my visa. The helpline ppl told me to call this friday. Today was my 8th working day so I am going to wait till wednesday. I also tried putting my GWF number on bluedart to see if they have handed over to bluedart as a lot of time they don't update .

you have plenty of time until 3rd of August, so don't worry and will get it by Friday/Monday...we did a lot mistakes on filling up the application form and we still hope for the positive news!!

If you've opted for courier then go to bluedart and go to ref and enter the GWF number just to check if it's been handed over to you - You got the confirmation email on 13th July right so it's the 9th working day for you so ideally by tomorrow you should hear something. I am on my 8th day so lets see

Finally we got a SMS about 'processed' applications from UKVisa...they are now ready for collection @VFS office...took 12 working days ..

Oh is it??? All the best . I called today as well they said my application is still not processed. I hope I et a positive news soon
