Post by boladale » Tue Oct 20, 2015 12:47 pm

Please, can anyone help me by answering these questions.
I was granted my first 3 yrs Discretionary leave in Oct 2009- Oct 2012,l applied for extension in Sept 2012,but it was delayed because of the backlog and was granted in Oct 2013 - Oct 2016.
My first question is,am i eligible to apply for ILR now since i have completed my six years (Oct 2009-Oct 2015)?
Secondly, Do i need to include photocopies of all the original documents also?
Thirdly,Do i need to include Life in the UK and English too?

Please its urgent.

Hi Boladale

As for my humble opinion...

1. you should be able to apply for ILR now!

Please see on my post, you're likely to be in my 3rd scenario...
http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefi ... 96489.html

Ref. https://www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk/y/y ... nary-leave
Your case will fall under Immigration Act 1971 c.77 Part 1 Section 3C, for the wait during in-time extension

2. & 3. You should! give them originals but keep photocopies, you know HO is like!, preparing all the doc like when you submitted for the extension but now, you have to use this form https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _09-15.pdf which is £1,500 a pop! if failed asylum.

But if you're granted DL under other categories then...this one https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _08-15.pdf same price!

According to the DL form, you don't have to provide UK Life & English test, so I guess that you might not have to provide it now. However, if you're using set[o] or plan to become British, then, sooner or later, you have to provide those details. So I think if you can take the tests now it won't hurt, as no expired date. Hopefully you will use it for next year to apply for British.

Also, from my research, both forms, you can use premium service which is 1 day decision! many people who were in similar situation like us, have been successful using this service but you have to pay £400 more

Ref:

Ps. have a look above...foxtrot1234 has posted very nice list doc that you need to prepare..http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefi ... l#p1245043

Hope this helps, good luck!

Just had a look, becoming British is very expensive!!! oh man!

ILR £1,500
Premium Service £400
UK Life test £50
British Naturalisation £1005 (price at 2015)
Ceremony £80

£3035 in total!!!

This is not including English things, postal & travelling time!!! oh mannn my half year rents!

Hi Daniel, I applied Premium Application at the HO Croydon today for ILR after completing (6yrs DLR)

My application was successful!

SET (O) forms with Printed Payment sheet and Appointment letter for PEO
ILR PEO fees: £1900
Covering letter: spectify the initial grant date and the extension date making 6yrs.

Note: My Initial grant date: 07-01-2010 - Applied b4 DLR visa expired
Extension grant date:from 07-07-2013 till 06-07-2016
6yrs DLR Qualifying Period: 07-01-2010 to 06-01-2016
PEO: 16-01-2016

I hope this helps anyone who needs to apply and need verification on the "Qualifying Period"

Your qualifying period starts from the date you first received the 1st part of your DLR. As long as an in time application was submitted (for the 1st DLR extension), and the 2nd part of the DLR was successfully granted, the waiting period is also counted as the qualifying period.

Many thanks
A
