EU1 - possible to complete immediately?

Post by henry_morgan » Mon Oct 31, 2016 7:32 pm

Hi all,

My non-EEA wife and I (UK citizen) are moving to Ireland to live and work.

Could anyone explain how it is possible to complete an EU1 form straight after arrival?

The application form asks for proof of residence and proof of employment. Of course, I hope to land a job as soon as possible and find a permanent place to live shortly after that. Does this mean we'll have to wait until I have these to apply?

Any advice on how to deal with this would be appreciated!

If you have no work or proof of residence, then it is not possible to fill in application immediately upon your entry.

You will need PPS and other things.

Thanks for your swift response Obie,

Getting a job is top of the list it seems!

A side question: once my wife has a temporary stamp 4 she will be legally able to start looking for jobs right?

All the best.

She will be entitled to work once your start exercising treaty rights, but she will need to get the Temporary Stamp 4 to do this.

The Stamp 4 appears to be taking a long time at present.

Thanks J_Karim, your Halloween based pun did not go unnoticed! :D Since this forum has been such a great help to me, I'll try and make a full write up of the whole process when it's over.
