visitors visa refusal

Post by Qwerty123456789 » Thu Dec 01, 2016 4:12 pm

hello guys
i have used this forum to get advise on my immigration issue in the UK and found it very useful.

my friend got refused twice this years, previously receiving 3 consecutive visitors visas from 2010
he used visitors visa to visit UK on the work trips, he is a full time camera man on salary for national channel, where he he visits UK 3 time a year up to one months at the time.
got refused on Appendiz 4.2(d)(c). without right to appeal.

can u work for oversee company, be paid oversee but ocationaly do some work in uk with provided accomodation and subsistence money or is it against visitors visa requirements?

thanks

You cannot work on a visit visa, not even for charity. Friend needs to learn from his past abuse of UK visit visas.

Um, 'business visa'. Google.
But with adverse immigration history don't bank on it.

It doesn't matter!! He is coming here to do a TV report, i.e. WORK, whether getting paid in UK or not. He is not allowed to work on a standard visitor visa.

What in the red, bold and underlined do you think he has not done? V4.5 and V4.6 specifically says work not allowed. He has broken the terms of his visit visa.
Genuine intention to visit
V 4.2 The applicant must satisfy the decision maker that they are a genuine visitor. This means that the applicant:
(a) will leave the UK at the end of their visit; and
(b) will not live in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive visits, or make the UK their main home; and
(c) is genuinely seeking entry for a purpose that is permitted by the visitor routes (these are listed in Appendices 3, 4 and 5); and
(d) will not undertake any prohibited activities set out in V 4.5 – V 4.10; and

(e) must have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable costs in relation to their visit without working or accessing public funds. This includes the cost of the return or onward journey, any costs relating to dependants, and the cost of planned activities such as private medical treatment.
Prohibited activities
Work
V 4.5 The applicant must not intend to work in the UK, which includes the following:
(a) taking employment in the UK;
(b) doing work for an organisation or business in the UK;
(c) establishing or running a business as a self-employed person;
(d) doing a work placement or internship;
(e) direct selling to the public;
(f) providing goods and services;
unless expressly allowed by the permitted activities in Appendices 3, 4 or 5.

You/friend - and the employer - really need to up your game. Which bit of the very clear and specific refusal did you not understand.

And if you have googled it by now you will note business visa specifically covers TV crew category.
