Can I apply for e visa without surrendering my passport?

Post by Water » Fri Dec 09, 2016 3:26 pm

Hi
I received my UK passport in April and my Indian passport expired in March.
Can I apply for e-visa for travel to India even though I am yet to surrender my Indian passport?
Thanks

ofcourse. Evisa is provided on your current status of your british passport.
Why haven't you followed protocol and gone through the correct procedure of obtaining a surrender certificate?
Surrender certificate implies that you've renounced your Indian citizenship.

Surrender your certificate first... Thats the easiest way. Yes you can apply for evisa

Surrendering certificate is a less than 1 week job. Once you submit the documents, Certificate will arrive in 2-3 days. Immediately you can drop for OCI. OCI will be processed in parallel with your evisa.
