Stamp 4 eufam holder visiting UK

Post by masterboy123 » Sat Dec 10, 2016 11:03 pm

I have stamp4EuFam and married to EU national.

We are planning to go to England for a visit and also plan to buy a car from England as it's cheaper to get from there and they have a larger variety of section. I will be travelling with my EU spouse and will be going via ferry route.

Do i need to apply for EEA family permit? This info used to be on Home Office website but can't seem to find anymore. Given we will be buying a car do we need to apply for business visa? Any idea anyone?

yes you do need a visa..but there is two category of visa
if your wife travel with you ,still you need the visa but they will not charge for visa but if you want to go on ur own u pay 110 euro for the visa fee..
check uk visit website for this
Any one can give there suggestion but only experts can give advice

Many thanks for the info.
My wife will be traveling together. But main question is are we allowed to buy a car from UK and bring down to ROI?

Not an immigration matter.

Ok. Why i thought it's an immigration matter because they have got business visa and i am wondering if it would fall under business category?

I travelled to the UK last month by using stam4eufam without a problem, you can go there without a visa.

Visa has nothing to do with buying a car

I thought EU4FAM is a resident card and you don't visa if travelling within EU on it. Is that understanding wrong?

You can buy a car from UK but the point is would you be willing to pay import tax etc on it when you bring it back to Ireland. Considering Ferry charge, NCT and tax etc may cost you more and you may be better off buying car in Ireland.

Did you print anything from Home Office website?
And did you travel by plane?

No, you do not need anything to print from home office website, just book a flight and board a plane .... you do not need a visa if you are traveling with your EU spouse , just keep your EU 4 fam card and your marriage cert with you.

until uk is part of the eu, so March 2019, you can still travel on your article 10 card (eu4fam is like that) without visa to uk if you are traveling together with your spouse.
It is still on the official website after tgiggering the article 50.
