Naturalisation question

Post by gorgeous » Mon Dec 19, 2016 10:55 am

Hi guys,

My partner is a Spanish national, and he has been living in Ireland since Sept 2011. Now, he wants to apply for his naturalisation, but he got unemployed between Sept 2012 / May 2013, his mother came here when he didn't have any money and gave him some, so he could support himself in the meantime.

The issue starts where he was living with his ex and couldn't find any proof of address from January-May 2013, and he has never put this money in his bank account, so he wouldn't have a bank statement for that.

Apart from that, he was able to find everything, he's got proof of address for each year, I was just wondering the beginning of 2013 as he couldn't find anything and he is afraid that immigration asks something about this gap in employment, as he won't have anything to prove that he was here.

At the same time, he is scared that immigration thinks that he wasn't here and they might think that it's a false information, once it says in the form that it could lead to imprisonment?

Any thoughts? Would it be worth applying?

Thanks for your help.
