Cos terminated

Post by shitlana » Thu Jan 05, 2017 10:21 pm

Hey!
I have a Tier 5 (Government Authorized exchange) visa, but my internship was terminated, so the CoS was cancelled as well. They said I should receive a letter from the Home Office giving me 60 days "leeway" period, which I still have not received. Can someone tell me, can I leave the UK for few days within these 2 months and then come bac ?
Thanks !

It is risky as the letter you will receive effectively cancels/curtails your visa. You risk being refused re-entry to the UK.

But I still dont have this letter, maybe the Home office is still proceeding the curtailment of my visa.. so its not shortened yet

Even so, if your reason to be here has been curtailed then the officer might not re-admit you. It's risky to try and re-enter, in my opinion. You'd be treated as a visitor and would have to satisfy the officer you were not here to work and had a genuine intention to visit and then to leave.

you are absolutely fine until you receive the Home office letter, but I would suggest you to find a new internship and sponsor asap and send a new application of leave to remain.

I would go with the advice above.
