Father spelt name differently on my birth certificate

Hello all,

I am attempting to register myself on the Foreign Births Register, but have come across a problem as my father is called Garry on his birth certificate but is Gary on my birth certificate. Will this cause a problem and if so does anyone know how to rectify it? I am not in contact with my father so getting him to send me ID is not an option (I am doing an affidavit to swear he is my dad).
