Tier 2 General Out of Country- Time to Travel

Post by monushh » Mon Feb 06, 2017 1:38 pm

Hi,

Once out of country Tier 2 General application is approved, when are the visa holders allowed to travel into the UK?

Are there any restrictions to travel way before employment start date or something?

Thank you.

Your initial visa vignette is valid for 30 days only. You can only enter the UK between the visa start date and vignette end date.

Thank you for the reply.

Today we received a text as below:

"The processed visa application for GWF042XXXX will be delivered to the chosen address"

Does this mean the visa is approved as the home office did not send any email or other notifications as such?

Nor, did they ask for any additional documents.

If approved, will today be considered as start date?

Thank you.

No, it does not mean it is approved. It means exactly what it says. HO do not send the outcome of the application by email.

You will need to wait for your documents to arrive. Visa start date is usually the application decision date unless a later date was requested by the applicant.

Not by email.

Refusals are sent the same way approvals are sent with the same message you have received.

Switching from Tier 2 General to Tier 2 General Depandent

Post by monushh » Sat Feb 11, 2017 12:11 pm

Hello,

I am currently on Tier 2 General Visa. My wife recently got Tier 2 General visa as well.

I am planning to switch from Tier 2 General to Tier 2 Depandent because of family reasons.

Please can someone help me to understand what all documents/requirements are needed to fulfil the PBS benchmark for "in- country" Depandent application?

Is English one of the requirements?

Do I have to appear IELTS etc..?

Kindly advise.

Thank you.

Suggest read the guidance notes. It is an online application only. You will have to pay the immigration health surcharge plus the visa fee. No you don't need English test. You must meet the maintenance requirements.

Thank you very much!

I checked using the calculator in UKVI site for health surcharge where the result I got is as below:

"Based on the information provided we have calculated that your total Immigration Health Surcharge is
£300.00"

Actually I will be applying for one year stay up until 28th March 2018 (As this is the expiry date of my wife's current tire 2 general visa)

As per my understanding I should be paying £100 only?

Please clarify.

It is £200 per year or part thereof pro rata so £300 is likely correct.

Odd that your spouse only got a visa for just over one year??

I am sorry, I didn't understand "part thereof"

Is that mean, because I am applying a month before I need to pay £100 more?

Thank you.

Sorry, I missed your other part of the question.

Yes, my wife is given only 12 month visa as her initial contract/term at the workplace(sponsorer) is for 12 months only.

She is a non- trainee doctor and I think for doctors its slightly different than to other proffessionals seeking this visa ruote.
