Tier2 - Short term staff

Post by BUBAI123 » Mon Oct 31, 2016 4:33 pm

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 Short term Staff which is getting expired on 22nd Feb.

My wife is pregnant and expected date of delivery on 18th Feb.

I want your suggestion to deal with the situation

1. If extension can be applied within UK

2. can baby travel without passport to India. To get a passport it will take 2 weeks from date of apply as baby is to be registered first (1 week), followed by passport application.

Regards
Paritosh

It's not permitted to extend a short-term visa.

As your baby isn't due until mid February, I assume it will be possible for your wife to return to your home country for the birth while she is still able to travel.

Hi Casa,

Thank You for your reply, I have discussed this situation if my wife can travel.

Due to her complication on last pregnancy doctor recommended for visa extension.

Can I (primary applicant) go back to my home country and I apply for ICT long term and wife stays back in UK and then apply her dependant visa from UK after I get my visa

The doctor understandably wasn't aware of your visa restrictions for an extension.

Your wife only has the right to remain in the UK as your dependant if you are residing here.

In addition to Casa's comment, if her visa expires, she has no free NHS access either.

Doctors unfortunately are not trained in immigration matters.
