Taxes in Ontario

Hi

Can some one please advise what taxes is an individual (with family) required to pay in Ontario?

Income tax is one thing - but what about any taxes levied by the provincial authorities (or even city councils) such as a property/council tax etc?

Also, if someone could help with an estimate of average rental and utility bills for a 3/4 bed house/flat in Greater Toronto area then that would be great!

Finally (hope not asking too much in one post!), can some one please advise what are the 'nice' neighbourhoods in Greater Toronto to bring up a family in?
