please help on ACS assessment

Post by ruka » Thu Sep 04, 2008 8:11 am

Dear All,

I am a comp. software programmer with over 6 years experience in C++
(which is in MODL).
I hold a degree in electronics and telecommunication Engineering.
The degree covered about telecommunication/Analog electronics/ DIgital
electronics /Computer systems (i.e Computer architecture in detail)
and some software. This was a four year degree.
I have done some other short software courses as well.
I have the following queries

1. Should I apply for skill assessment or RPL with ACS?
2. If I directly apply for skill assessment , do I need to add a
separate covering letter explaining all these and would I have to
explain about the content of my degree course in detail (I can attach
the transcript but they just have the subject names covered in each
year with the grades).

3. In case acs determines that I would need an RPL, then could I get
the RPL done and proceed with the same skill assessment application
without submitting a brand new application for the assessment.

4. Can any of you please provide a sample covering letter for skill
assessment?

Please help me advise me on my best course of
action.

Thanks in advance.

You have to apply to ACS for Computer related skills assessment. Charges are AU$ 400. It takes around 3-4 months to get the assessment done.
