Help needed - Skilled migration to Australia

Post by bsheldon » Tue Apr 07, 2009 12:54 pm

My wife and myself are planning to migrate to Australia. We both are working in IT/software industry. I have around 10 years experience and my wife has got 4. I am working in embedded domain in a semiconductor company and my wife is working in Java/J2EE which comes under MODL.

As I understand correctly I have two options..

1) Apply for work permit visa for only person and the other one can go as dependent.

2) Both can apply simultaneously for two skilled visas.

Can any one suggest me which option is better?. My main aim is to get the visa as early as possible and with out any risk. I know the second options costs more. But is there any advantage in going for the second option?

Any help is appreciated.

You could both go on the same skilled visa application, if eligible, see http://www.immi.gov.au
