800 maintenance fund

Post by babajide11 » Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:57 pm

I recently got to know that my Visa expires on the 1st of Oct instead of Oct 30 like every other colleague of mine, I dont know why mine seems different. My course ought to be for 12 month but instead, I was issued 11 month visa. I graduated just last week and as a result wouldnt be able to meet the 3 month fund maintenance. And all of this was as a result of the 11 mont visa given to me instead of 12 month.

I really dont know what to do as I'm really confused, I dont want to go back to my home country to make the application because that seems to be on the high side.

Can anyone please suggest what I can possibly do?

I'll appreciate any input, PLS HELP!

Since your query has nothing to do with application timelines, it is being moved here.

Please post queries in the appropriate section /place.

The only sensible thing is to follow the policy guidance.

The student visa for a course should be the duration of the course + 4 months. If you haven't been granted that period of time, then you can apply for an extension on your visa.

@Potterbond007

Thank you for your input, I have just completed my studies but I was only giving 11 month instead of 12 month. This will now affect the mainitenance in my account since I wouldnt be able to show 3 month of maintenance. Do you think I can extend my visa and how?

Please explain further, will greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you brother, looking forward to your response

This happens all the time babjide
You need to contact your college international office for a visa extension as you were not given the appropriate visa duration
It can easily be extended and you will be able to apply for your psw

I was told I wouldnt be able to apply for an extension without CAS which they cant give me. Do you think putting a cover letter with my PSW application will work if i explain the situation to them?

I await your response..
