Query Regarding AN form - 5 year rule

Post by UK_high » Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:26 am

My present status is as follows

1. I had been residing in UK since 2nd Feb,2005
2. I had got my indefinite leave to remain on 2nd Feb,2010

The Section B of the AN booklet says that a person needs to physically present in UK on the day 5 years before the application is received. This statement is not very clear to me.

Since I was on holiday from 28th Jan,2006 to 20th March,2006 - which is physically not present in UK exactly 5 years before I come eligible for citizenship , can I apply for Naturalisation on 3rd Feb,2011 or I need to apply after 20th March,2011. If I take the total period, I am residing in UK for the past 6 years.

Thanks in advance
