child benefit /child tax credit effect on settlement visa

Post by krishanaprasad » Tue May 31, 2011 10:46 pm

Hi I am currently getting the child benefit /child tax credit while on work permit visa (India nationality ) .
I will be completing 5 year on work permit in this June end.
Please can you advise if this can cause rejection or problem for my Settlement application.

why are you claiming CTC and CB when you have no recourse to public funds?

krishanaprasad, your spouse's nationality is also Indian?

Also, prior to coming to the UK did either of you work in another country, apart from that of nationality, before coming to the UK? If so, details please.

child benefit

Post by raovar » Mon Jul 04, 2011 8:19 pm

Hi,

Recently my wife and my daughter got ILR. I am on Tier 1 (General) Visa. My extention is due next year. In the mean time can my wife claim a child benefit?. Does that affect my extension application in anyway?

Thanks

Yes, no problem, as she has ILR she can claim whatever benefits her circumstances dictate she is entitled to.
I am on Tier 1 (General) Visa. My extention is due next year.
Given that your wife now has her ILR, why are you not applying now for a 2-year spouse visa ..... and thus leaving the stringent requirements of T1G?

Can I ask, how come your wife and daughter got ILR, but not you?
