Guidance needed

Post by andreea_london » Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:40 am

Hi all, I am a romanian national, I've been self employed in the UK for 10 years. I have a yellow card and I would like to become an employee (PAYE). I should have applied for ILR years ago but I couldn't be bothered  and now I'm not sure which would be the best route to take. Should I apply for permanent residence or am I eligible to apply for naturalisation? After hours spent reading the UK Border agency website I am still confused!?! Please help me!

Thanks in advance.

Romanians are allowed to work as self-employed persons. If you've done so for more than five years, then you will have qualified for Permanent Residence.
