Tier 2 extension (change employer) processing times

Hi All,
I applied for tier 2 extension due to change employer in mid August but haven't received the final results from UKBA until today.
I have done biometrics end of August, applied for PSNI DAT1 letter end of September. My current tier 2 visa expires in 2014.

According to this website my final results is long overdue:

Any advise please?

Can somebody share their experience on this please? try to contact UKBA by letter but has no reply.
Is it recommended to use a solicitor to enquire my applications' status?
