ILR New Fees

Post by Kehsihba » Sat Mar 02, 2013 1:11 pm

The new fees for ILR effective 06Apr'13 as per UKBA site is:
ILR Standard - main £1,051
ILR Standard - all dependants £788

1. When it says £788 all dependents, does it mean all dependents taken together, or is it £788 per dependent?
So, if a family of 4 is applying (one main and 3 dependents), would the total fee be £1839 or is it £3415?

2. Also, if one dependent applies separately later, will the fee still be £788 or is it £788 only when applying together alongwith main applicant??

Thanks in advance..

1) That's per dependent not combined

In the subsection titled "Application fees for settling in the UK using form SET(M)" under More Information in the lower part of the page.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... e-cp/fees/
£496 for each child included on the main applicant's application form
Website obviously still referring to current fee of £496.

2) To get the lower fee, the dependent must be on the same application.
If you applying from inside the UK and are sending applications for your dependent children at the same time as your own application, you can pay a reduced fee for their applications by including them on your application form.

Thanks for clarifying. So any idea how much is the reduced fee per dependent child if applying with main applicant? I m looking for fees applicable from Apr'13.

Ok got it.. explaining through an example below:

For 4 applicants (one main, one dependent spouse and 2 dependent kids) the fees for in-person appearance when applying within UK after 06Apr'13 is:
1051+375+788+375+788+375+788+375 = 4915. Consultation with lawyers, etc is extra.
For applications made in person (e.g. at a public enquiry office) the total fee is the relevant
standard fee plus £375 per person (this includes the £100 appointment fee, which may be retained
should the applicant fail to attend their appointment without good reason).
What a thriving business this is, when comparing with Singapore where any work visa costs just S$30 and PR costs just S$100, all requiring personal appearance. And they still seem to have far tighter border and immigration controls. Their turnaround time for processing is also only a matter of days.[/quote]

agreee but UK is a welfare state and they are making money. they have to pay money in terms of benefits to their people. you cannot compare UK with singapore not many people are arriving in UK as compared to singapore where in UK there is a flight land / departs every minute at heathrow airport.

my friend worked in camden council as a traffic warden . he told me camden council make 18 millions pounds A MONTH just from PCN's. that earned money they do give it people who are on benefits.

They know that people are coming to UK and they do extend visa etc
they are making money in every sense

PEO fees
Application fees
Life in uk test fees

etc....
